Position: Factory Manager – Interior & Modular Furniture Manufacturing
Location: Factory Unit
Reports to: Managing Director / Operations Head
Department: Production & Operations
Role Overview
The Factory Manager is responsible for end-to-end operations of the interior and modular furniture factory, ensuring timely production, quality compliance, material control, manpower efficiency, and cost optimization. The role demands strong leadership, technical understanding of interior manufacturing, and strict process discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Operations
- Plan, schedule, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production targets
- Ensure smooth operation of all machinery (panel saw, CNC, edge bander, drilling, finishing)
- Coordinate production based on approved shop drawings and BOQs
- Reduce production downtime and improve throughput
- Quality Control
- Ensure all products meet design, finish, and dimensional standards
- Implement quality checkpointsat cutting, edging, assembly, and finishing stages
- Address rework, rejection, and wastage issues
- Maintain consistent factory finish standards (laminate, PU, veneer, acrylic, etc.)
- Material & Inventory Management
- Monitor raw material intake, issue, and consumption
- Ensure FIFO system for boards, hardware, and accessories
- Maintain minimum stock levels and prevent excess stocking
- Coordinate with purchase team for timely material procurement
- Manpower & Productivity
- Allocate manpower effectively across sections
- Monitor daily output per worker and per machine
- Control overtime, idle time, and absenteeism
- Train workers on best practices and safety
- Machinery & Maintenance
- Ensure proper usage and preventive maintenance of machines
- Coordinate machine servicing and breakdown repairs
- Maintain machine logs and maintenance records
- Suggest upgrades for productivity improvement
- Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with design, site execution, and sales teams
- Align factory output with site installation schedules
- Ensure priority handling of urgent projects
- Conduct daily production review meetings
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce factory safety rules and SOPs
- Ensure proper use of PPEs
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free factory floor
- Comply with labor and statutory requirements
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit:
- Daily production reports
- Material consumption reports
- Manpower attendance & output reports
- Rework and wastage reports
- Maintain job cards, cutting lists, and dispatch notes
- Cost Control
- Reduce material wastage and rework costs
- Monitor production cost per sqft / per module
- Optimize manpower and machine usage
- Support management in cost analysis and budgeting

Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Production, Civil, Interior, or related field
Experience
- 3–10 years in interior / modular furniture factory operations
- Proven experience handling plywood, boards, laminates, hardware, and finishes
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- Modular furniture production
- CNC, panel saws, edge banders
- Shop drawings & cutting lists
- Basic knowledge of Excel & reporting
