Figma Specialist
About the Role
We’re hiring asenior UI craftsperson who lives in Figma and can take clear direction to produce high-quality screens, flows, and prototypes—primarily by extending and tidying an existing design system> You’ll work directly with the CTO
via Slack and voice notes, turn rough guidance into precise UI, and keep files clean and developer-ready. This is a
direction-led, craft-driven role: less stakeholder wrangling, more building beautiful, consistent product UI quickly.
What You’ll Deliver
New screens & user flows that extend current patterns.
Clickable prototypes for internal reviews and quick tests.
Light design-system upkeep (components, variants/states, documentation as needed).
File hygiene: clear structure, naming, styles/tokens, annotations.
Developer handoff : accurate specs, measurements, and exportables in context.
How We’ll Work
Inputs: Slack messages, voice/Loom notes, occasional Jira tickets, references, and existing components.
Turnaround: fast iterations; confirm receipt same business day; share concise progress updates in Slack
.
Judgment: follow direction and system first; propose tasteful improvements when they raise clarity or quality.
Responsibilities
Extend existing patterns to new use cases (onboarding, settings, error/empty states, confirmations, etc.).
Build precise flows across breakpoints (mobile/tablet/desktop) and, when relevant, align with common platform norms (e.g., iOS).
Create/adjust components ,variants/states , and tokens to keep the system coherent.
Prepare dev-ready specs and answer lightweight implementation questions.
Must-Have Skills
Expert Figma : Auto Layout, components, variants/states, prototyping, styles/tokens, library usage.
StrongUI craft : layout, spacing, type scales, contrast/accessibility basics.
Speed + accuracy under direction; comfortable working from rough guidance.
● Clean handoffs developers trust.
Nice-to-Haves
Micro-interactions (smart animate) or Lottie handoff.
Awareness of web implementation (CSS variables/spacing scales) or Webflow.
Familiarity with common native patterns (e.g., Apple/iOS) for parity when needed.
Experience
3+ years in product/UI design with a portfolio showing:
extensions of an existing system
complex components/variants
and tidy, dev-ready handoffs.
