Job Description
Desired Profile
- In-depth knowledge of database administration in MYSQL and PostgreSQL.
- Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and creation of stored procedures.
- Conduct support tasks such as Performance tuning, Data cleaning and Indexing, security configuration etc.
- Knowledge in database clustering.
- Provide enterprise-wide, DBA support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database creation, and database production support.
- Installation, configuration, customization, maintenance and performance tuning of databases.
- Knowledge in managing databases in Linux environment.
- Database version migration, patching and security management.
- Solve complex, non-routine problems and determine innovative solutions through cost/benefit analysis.
- Manage all aspects of database operations including implementation of database monitoring tools, event monitoring, diagnostic analysis, performance optimization routines and top-tier support for resolving support issues.
- Facilitate database backup and recovery as well as documenting and testing all backup and recovery procedures.
- Work closely with the application developers and Operations to ensure reliable database usage.
- Investigate application response time issues. Provide solutions for performance improvements. Validate and test stored procedures before implementation in the production environment
- Provide development and production support to troubleshoot day-to-day database or related application issues.
- Installation, configuration, customization, maintenance and performance tuning of databases.
- Knowledge in Virtualization, Load Balancing and Clustering Technologies
- Knowledge in Information Security concepts aligning to ISO 27001 standards
Experience & Certifications
- Engineering/Science graduate with 3 to 5 years of experience in DB administration/ DB Development
- OCP/MySQL certified or any DB administrator certification
- Certifications like RHCE will be an added advantage
