Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and ensure accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to create and manage budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring and reporting on variances.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze project expenses, monitor costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities within construction projects.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee timely accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry-specific financial regulations and standards, staying updated on accounting rules.
- Financial Audits: Coordinate and support financial audits, providing documentation and explanations to auditors.
- Taxation: Prepare and file various tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
- Cash Flow Management: Optimize working capital by efficiently managing cash flow and liquidity needs.
- Financial Analysis: Provide insights through financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Proven Senior Accountant experience, ideally in construction.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with construction accounting principles and software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint) is advantageous.
