Job Description
The Software Development Team Lead will be part of an agile development team, building and working on enterprise grade Industrial IoT software systems, predominantly on Windows OS platforms using various modern technology stacks. The Team Lead will provide technical and team leadership through coaching and mentorship.
Right candidate shall have:
✅ 5 – 10 years of experience as a software developer
✅ Prior experience in a technical leadership position
✅ Shall be highly proactive and would love to work in a startup environment
✅ Shall have a Minimum Academic Qualification of B Tech / B.E in Computer science / Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation
Core Competency Requirements
✔ Good Programming skills in Java or C++
✔ Experience in Networking Domain, Socket Programming OR Publish – Subscribe mechanism OR REST API communication. Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP/IP, sockets and network programming.
✔ Experience in the development of high performance systems using Multi-threading OR Multi-Tasking.
✔ Expertise in Data Structures and Algorithms.
✔ Proficiency with Agile methodologies
✔ Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
✔ Knack for writing clean, maintainable & readable code
Preferred Requirements:
✔ Understanding fundamental design principles behind building long term scalable applications
✔ Ability to drive high standards of product quality
✔ Experience in Industrial Automation Domain.
✔ Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories.
✔ Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments
✔ Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
✔ Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
✔ Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
Good to have:
☀ Experience in working with Industrial Protocol communication protocols like Modbus, Bacnet or Profinet.
☀ Exposure to M2M communication protocols : MQTT or AMQP.
☀ Experience in Serialisation / Deserialisation techniques : XML or JSON.
☀ Experience with any lightweight embedded databases like sqlite or LiteDB
Duties & Responsibilities:
☛ Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
☛ Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
☛ Package and support deployment of releases.
☛ Develop, refine, and tune integrations between applications.
☛ Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.
☛ Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties.
☛ Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
☛ Research and evaluate a variety of software products
☛ Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery.
☛ Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
☛ Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
☛ Collaborate with other team members to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web-based and desktop-based IIoT applications built on Microsoft and other technologies.
☛ Assist in the collection and documentation of user’s requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans.
☛ Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.
